Regional youth centre Košice will host the General Assembly of the ENYC (European network of yough centres) network from 18 to 20 February 2011. The network was founded in 2003 under the Council of Europe for youthwork and youth centres. It deals mainly with increasing the quality and implementing the standards for local, regional and national youth centres while supporting the diversity and as active as possible direct involvement of the youth in managing those centres. All member organisations support also intercultural understanding and international cooperation in the field of youthwork. At present, the network has 15 member organisations in different Europe's countries. There are 2 member from Slovakia - Regional youth centre Košice and Leisure time activities centre Junior Banská Bystrica.
The General Assembly will be hosted in Slovakia for the first time and majority of the organisations' representatives will be present. The meeting will be attended also by the president of the network Viv McKee from the UK, Secretary general Ritva Saarikettu from Finland and other members of the bureau. Ing. Erika Munková, director of the Regional youth centre Košice, is also member of the bureau.
The General Assembly will, within the program, deal with the network's program for years 2001 and 2012, preparation of the projects for international cooperation and creation of the quality standards for international team of trainers for work with youth. The chairman of the Košice self-governing region will host the members of the bureau on Friday 18 February 2001 at 9.30 a.m.
